My Boyfriend's Friend Had a Crush On Me.

Recently, one of my ex-boyfriend's friends messaged me. He told me that he had a crush on me back then, but he never pursued me because he saw that I was already dating his friend, who became my boyfriend in high school. He said he stepped aside because he didn't want to come between us.
Now, we're both married, and my high school boyfriend and I didn't end up together. He told me that he and his wife are not on good terms, and he asked if we could meet. I told him that we couldn't because I'm married now, and I asked him why he wanted to meet me in the first place. He said he just wanted to talk.
I'm wondering what his real intention is. Why would he still want to meet me, knowing that I'm already married?
What's your thoughts on this!?

Thank you for your concern. I understand where you're coming from, and I agree that protecting my marriage is the priority. That's exactly why I'm being careful about how I handle the situation.

Thank you. I think it all worked out the way it was meant to. I'm happily married.

@valherma00 I agree. I already have my own happiness, and I genuinely hope he finds his too. Everyone deserves the chance to move forward and be happy.

He's probably just a bit emotional, but the best thing you can do is be honest with him.

I think you're right. Honesty is the best approach, and that's exactly how I intend to handle it.

@eliza_godinez12 Sometimes honesty can be difficult, sometimes I get shy when I try to be honest. It just so happens that this last class I need to graduate is interpersonal communications, and I'm taking it right now as a summer semester, and hopefully it will help me figure out my way of communicating with people and why I sometimes stumble and become afraid of saying what I need to say.

@mininifty I think many people can relate to that. Honesty can feel uncomfortable sometimes, but the fact that you're working on your communication shows that you care about expressing yourself better. Wishing you the best in your class.
