Goat Helps Colorado Firefighters

Colorado is under fire right now. Wildfire. We’ve got several fires burning in the state at the moment. Two have joined forces to create one big fire. And it seems as if every time we get news of 100% containment (or any containment,) we get news of a new one.
Such as last week, when the small Rock Creek fire broke out near Cheyenne Mountain State Park (a fun place to camp!) in Colorado Springs. As firefighters headed into steep, wooded terrain to fight the new fire, they got a little help in the form of a four-year old Nigerian dwarf goat named “Goldie.”
Goldie, the pet of a Castle Rock firefighter, took off solo from her home and led firefighters through easier paths to and from the fire, munching on vegetation along the way. Firefighters told stories of Goldie waiting along her chosen route for them to follow her.
The firefighters awarded Goldie a medal for her firefighting efforts, and she has become something of a social media sensation. It’s nice to have something nice to talk about.

If I was a firefighter, I wouldn't mind having a goat show me the best way through the terrain.
