I’ve been trying to catch every Senate hearing on the impeachment of the VP, and it’s been pretty interesting to watch how things unfold. The hearings have only been going on for a few days, with just two witnesses so far, which makes it intriguing. The debates between the prosecution and defense have been so intense that even simple gestures are being objected to. At times, it’s almost amusing to see both sides trying to delay or derail the arguments, scrutinizing every detail to the point of confusing anyone trying to follow the case. The legal jargon can get so complicated that it leaves you wondering why things are playing out this way.

I wish our VP would get impeached, but not nearly as much as the President.

They are afraid they can't beat her in the next election so they're bringing her down now. Shame. I've actually just tried to ignore it because it's just a waste of tax payers money. The people voting is the big problem.

@Letranknight2015 Now is the time to realize that they were not who they appeared to be. Now is the time to reveal their true intentions to the public.

@rsa101 Yeah before she keep asking for intelligence money worth billions. I didn't vote for her dad back in 2016 and people believed him then.

But I believe that with her allies inside, she can avoid being convicted. With only 21 senators who can vote, the law requires two-thirds of the 24 senators to vote 16 to convict. When looking at the house today, the majority is only 13 and the minority is 8, so it is fairly obvious that the majority requires three more votes to fully convict the vice president.

I have yet to watch it. Are they turning the trial into a circus?

Oh! That sounds very intense. And it would be interesting to watch such intense real life courtroom drama. I hope that justice is served. These legal jargons can be tricky and can derail the judgement

I’m not expecting it to happen. The Senate still can’t reach the two-thirds vote needed to convict, as they seem more politically and visibly inclined to avoid that outcome unless the majority can sway the minority to join them. While the evidence to impeach the VP looks strong, political alliances appear to be much stronger at the moment—unless the prosecution can truly persuade them to break those ties.

@rsa101 Hmm....the political game generally overpowers. What was the outcome? Did the president get impeached?

@arunima25, the VP is currently being impeached. It is still ongoing, and given the large number of articles to respond to, I believe it will take some time before it is resolved. Looking at the numbers, I believe it will take a lot of convincing because the vice president has many allies in the Senate, which is why I believe she will avoid impeachment.
