Getting ready for my trip down south

Last Monday, my friend back home told me I’d been invited to the unveiling and naming of a building in honor of my father’s work at that university. I was honored and accepted the invitation, but he mentioned I’d need to prepare a short speech since I’d be one of the guests at the event. I felt a bit hesitant because I haven’t done public speaking in a long time, but I knew I needed to get ready for it. When my wife heard the news, she decided to come along and attend the occasion, even taking a short leave from work. My son also chose to join us and tag along for the trip.

Knowing that his devoted service to the university has had some influence on the institution would undoubtedly make my late father happy.

@toniganzon Me and my family are the only ones who will represent us there. Most of his siblings are abroad already and do not reside here anymore.

My family and I will be heading to Bicol for a short visit, enjoying a treat while revisiting old places and spending time with family and friends.

Yes, I'm glad they came with me; at least I won't be intimidated by the occasion. I hope I can deliver my speech well, as I admit I am not very good at it.

@JudyEv Thank you; hopefully, I won't be too pressed to deliver this for once. I guess I just need to keep my cool while delivering the speech.
