New Chess Set

Sparta, Tennessee

I was really proud of the Green Bay inspired chess et that I did for a friend but I like this one too. I wanted to do a simple set but it also had to be patriotic with red, white and blue. So the board is a mix of those three colors. Just the regular colors, nothing special like glow in the dark or anything. The pieces are neon red and blue. I love how they stand out. I kind of wonder if it would have been better to switch it though and used neon for the board and regular for the pieces. Could be an interesting future project. I like this one though and it'll go in the shop soon. I won't open again until Friday so it may not be until then but it will go up. What do you think of it?

Did you make that? It’s very impressive! Obviously it doubles as a draughts/checkers board too. I used to play chess, but not for some years now. My opening move to you would be: Pawn to D4

My dad tried to teach me but I never really had the patience for it.

Before I read your post, I thought maybe it was for New York Giants fans, but it definitely looks patriotic, and well done.

I am a traditionalist when it comes to things like this and I am a bit of a black and white person But nothing wrong with playing the game with other colours of pieces. Patriot French and Dutch and British People would love these colours. Lol

Lol. I thought about making a traditional color board and I probably will eventually. I can't do a lot of them because unmolding them hurts my hands...a lot.

This feels new to me since this isn't the usual chess set I often see.

It's an epoxy set. The green bay one was slightly brighter I think
