So, I went for a swim last night, although most power lines here are underground there are a few that aren't, and down in the area where the lake is (Not over it)there are a few high voltage power lines. Last night due to the demand of the consumers because of the heat the power lines were really sizzling. I never heard any that loud before, in fact I usually don't hear anything at all from them. Hundreds of homes no doubt were using power to cool their homes. Although AC will likely be needed at some points today our temps will probably be 5 degrees lower than they would have been due to the Canadian wildfires. There is always a silver lining behind every cloud.

I would imagine the lines were at capacity. I didn't have my AC on though at that time. It was cool in here from having it on all day, and the ceiling fan was on.

It reminded me of the noise when you are sizzling something to eat, or getting a plate of fajitas.

@snowy22315 - I heave heard that noise when a cable was "grilling" in the garage years ago.
