...I got wet.
I went to the pool, and there was no one else there. It might have felt better when it was hotter out, but there also would have been two or three dozen kids in it. I was glad to have it to myself for a bit.
A bunch of maintenance guys came in to clean and tidy the pool area, but that wasn't so bad. Then I saw a lady walk by with hers and her roommate's dogs, and I got out of the pool for a bit to chat with them, then got back in the pool.
I wasn't there for very long, but I'm glad that I went. Now the rest of the day is mine.

It sounds like your timing was perfect! Having the pool all to yourself is a rare treat, especially during the summer. I'd much rather have a slightly cooler pool with some peace and quiet than one packed with kids.
