About 150 metres from our caravan site is the village hall.....they do the usual things there ...yoga, flower arranging, craft classes. Outside they have a pitch for the local children's and adults football teams.
Anyway, around the edge of the grounds there are trees.
A couple of these trees produce pinecones.
Now, I love all things natural .... except when a pigeon poops on my head ,but that's another story ....
I have a basket on my window sill at home full of pinecones ( and another with conkers in ).
I know that florists use pinecones a lot for their flower arrangements.
Also a lot of people use them in crafts ....to make wreaths and table decorations at Christmas time.
Now, I know it's still July .... I haven't gone completely laa laa .....not completely ! ....but, I thought if I could collect as many as I could I can make some of these decorations and sell them.
Or
I could simply sell the pinecones to others to make whatever they want.
You can buy pinecones in the hobby shops ... last time I looked they were £2 for 10 pinecones ...
I have loads already and can sell them an awful lot cheaper.....
What do you think ?

If you can make a business out of it, and it's frutful I'd say go for it.

@Traceyjayne Didn't say it'd be a booming business or big, but it's still comerce. You're trying to sell something. With little to no overhead cost, except for fuel and time. assuming you used some form of transportation to collect them and get home.

@kaylachan I'm on holiday here anyway and just have to walk to where they are so no fuel used. Yes, there will be fuel going home but that would be used anyway so I'm.not counting that. So that makes the pinecones free.
Any money I make will be total profit ....however I will only be able to get between 1000 to 2000 in total. ( I think ).
Any money made is good though ....right ?

I don't think I will have enough to make a business but certainly I will be able to make enough to get some treats

People here start making decorations early , especially if they are going to sell them.

@Traceyjayne That's nice to know. Christmas is really the most awaited holiday every year.

Just now
That's a great idea. I would definitely go with either of those plans.
