We call it lugaw. Sometimes Arroz Caldo. Also know as congee or porridge. We can have it plain, with hard boiled eggs, with chicken or sometimes with beef tripe. It is topped with fried garlic and sometimes chopped green onions. Some people pair it with fried pork and tofu in soy sauce and vinegar. I remember when I was young, a vendor sells it with pig's brain. We usually have this when we are sick or in a cold and rainy weather. The other night, me and my daughter ate lugaw as I was craving for one.

Some of those ingredients--no thank you. Like @LadyDuck , chicken soup is our go-to thing when we're sick here in the States.

@LadyDuck sorry it's a typo. I was probably sleepy. It's still Arroz caldo

I don’t know that I could eat pig’s brain or beef tripe, but maybe if I grew up eating it, it wouldn’t sound so unusual to me. It sure sounds interesting.

I agree not anyone will eat those especially when it's not familiar.

I like it with chicken feet and some liver and gizzard... Now I am also craving for it, especially now that it is raining here in my hometown...
