Good Monday Morning

Another weekend has flown by and I can't believe it. It's been a really rough couple of days. My dad's birthday was on Thursday and I struggled through it. I think we all did. I kind of shut down and it's been hard to crawl back up. Mom's was on Friday but we took her to dinner on Sunday. We were supposed to on Saturday but it flooded pretty good in Cookeville and we erred on the side of caution. It was bad enough going home on Sunday the rain flooded the road that they were working on. My jeep really didn't like it. Today it's back to work. We did as much of the grass as we could over the weekend so now i have to vacuum the floor. It was all still wet so we ended up tracking in grass. Hence the vacuuming. All laundry is done, I just need to fold the last bit of it. I need to catch up on pen pal letters and get some new ones into their proper folder. We got in my huge amazon order yesterday and I'm super excited. It was the hat organizer with some blank hats that I can put up. The freshie beads were there so I can work on some of those. I even got Halloween scents for both the freshies and the regular car air fresheners. The wooden dowels I got to work on the door macrame hanger will be in today and the lye so I can do soap will be in Tuesday. Soon I'll be getting Iphone 17 pro max cases in. I got a random order for one yesterday. I'm excited about it and happy because I reached all the way to McMinville. For me that's about a half hour away....I think. Yeah, McMinville is a half hour while Murfreesboro is an hour. I get them mixed up all the time for some odd reason. I also have a shirt to do for a friend's daughter. She started flag football and she's in love with it. She is also the tallest one on the team. At first I though my friend was kidding but she sent me a picture the other day and her daughter truly towers over everyone. Today there's computer work to get done as well as the shop work. Soon I'll have everything to get Fall and Halloween rolling so that'll bring on work of it's own. All we've gotten here lately is rain and heat. Hopefully the rain lays off for a bit there's still a ton of yard work to get done. I finished The Final Target by Nora Roberts. I absolutely love her books and this one was the same. She definitely does not write damsels in distress. She writes strong women who can save themselves but do love it when the guy rushes in and they can fall apart after. You can seriously tell the maturity of her writing if you've read her earlier stuff to now. Now I'm on Pretty Little Scars by Kristen Proby. It's the start of a new series for her and so far I'm loving it. I think I'm about half way through it now. Once I finish it, Carrie Ann Ryan sent me her new ARC so that will be next. I've unraveled two blankets I was making so now I have none lol. I had screwed them up past the point of fixing and that's ok because I'll just try again. They may not be ready for Christmas but I'll do them. Time to get this day started and moving. There's a lot to do and only so much time in the day. What is everyone else up to today?

I'm glad you still managed to celebrate your mom's birthday despite the weather. It also sounds like you have plenty of creative projects to keep your hands busy. I'm at work today, so nothing too exciting.

I have to go back to work tomorrow. Until then though, I have plenty to get done here. I'm really excited to kick off fall. I have some back to school stuff to put up in the shop.

@JordanLader That's nice to know, early preparation is a must. Something I always plan to do but end up cramming, lol!

I did. Most of my tools and supplies come from Amazon though I do have some specialty suppliers. Halloween and Christmas are usually my two biggest holidays so I tend to market them at the same time. Something for everyone.

I’m glad to hear you were still able to celebrate your mom’s birthday. I think today I’m just trying to stay cool. I’m having some major problems with some of my sites today, and even yesterday so I have a lot of catching up to do.

I've been having issues with one in particular but I'm hoping it clears up soon because I was doing so good on that one.

It sounds like you've had an emotional few days. Birthdays can be especially difficult after losing someone you love, so it's completely understandable that your dad's birthday brought up a lot of feelings. I'm glad you were still able to celebrate your mom's birthday, even if the weather forced you to postpone it a day.
