Firefighters rescue a dog that was in the San Francisco Bay

Menlo Park Fire District firefighters responded to an emergency call two weeks ago when a female dog ran into the San Francisco Bay and was swimming away from the shore.
The firefighters used a rescue boat to save the female dog who was paddling in water before getting her to the rescue boat and take her to dry land where she was dried with a towel.
The dog was reunited with her owner who is a resident of East Palo Alto California who is grateful that the firefighters rescued his dog who had been missing for two weeks.
My guess is that the female dog had a microchip on her which made it easier to reunite the dog with her owner safe and sound.

Most likely ran away from home or she was kidnapped by a stranger.

Something must have prompted the dog to enter the bay like that. If missing for two weeks, yes, someone might have dognapped it, and it was trying to escape this miscreant.
