TV Shows That Don't Live Up To Your Expectations

A series I'm watching is The Bear. It's a highly acclaimed show and has won numerous awards including Emmys.
I started watching this when season one aired as I love the main character Jeremy Allen White and followed him to The Bear from Shameless. I tend to follow a person I like from one show to another if I really like them and he was one of my favorite characters in Shameless.
The premise of The Bear is a world class chef comes home to manage a struggling family business (basically a sandwich joint) and tries to elevate it into a more upscale restaurant.
I'm only in the middle of season two and there's 5 seasons altogether, I think.
I have mixed feelings about this show. Some episodes are better than others while some leave me flat.
It kind of reminds me of a book that is so popular and then when I read it I wonder what all the hype was about.
Have you see this show The Bear? If so what do you think?
If not, is there or has there been a show that you wanted to watch and felt like it wasn't worth all the hype?

I know it won for Best Comedy and everyone was like, how did this qualify for a comedy?
I wanted to watch the new spinoff of The Big Bang Theory, but someone on Mylot said they saw it, and it wasn’t good (Stuart Fails to Save the Universe). I’d rather not sully memories of that show by watching a mediocre spinoff.

I don't see how The Bear qualifies as a comedy. I don't know if I'll even attempt watching it further.,
I loved The Big Bang Theory but haven't watched any spinoffs. I'm with you on that one.

No, but that is one I would like to watch due to the hype about it. Can you find it on FX?

I haven’t watched much in the way of episodic television in ages. I had a class in college where we had to watch a TV series. I picked Bob, the post-Newhart show that Bob Newhart did, where he played a greeting card cartoonist who had drawn a “cult classic” comic book earlier in his life. It was awful. Especially after that marvelous ending to Newhart (where he woke up next to Emily from The Bob Newhart Show and all of Newhart had been a dream). I watched a few episodes of the reboot of Night Court. I wasn’t expecting the magic to be re-created, and it wasn’t…however, John Larroquette was still brilliant. My viewing anymore is relegated to baseball games and live webcams of sunsets and storms.

I found the same thing with both those spinoffs (Bob and Night Court).
Can't be disappointed with sunsets and storms and watching them is free

I tried about 5 episodes of the first season because of the hype and I didn't "get" it. Depressing. Boring.

Yup that's exactly how I feel and have struggled through part of season two. Doubtful I'll continue and I'd really like to know how it's considered a comedy
