Puzzle Thoughts

I was just reading a post by @AmbiePam about what else, but a puzzle.
And it got me to thinking. I know, a very rare habit.
I am thinking about my Christmas list alot lately. I do not get the twins toys persay but clothing and then we move $$ into the money market account that I set up with our son for their future.
But.....back to the puzzle thought.
Yesterday when they were over, I showed them the latest jigsaw puzzle that Grandpa finished. It is all glued together and is an impressive looking puzzle. They told me that it was just a picture, so I turned it around and showed them the back, and they touched it and agreed with me that it was a puzzle.
They will have first day of school pictures taken in September. I suggested to my husband that we take one of each of them and have it made into a puzzle and they can put it together and their parents can frame it. The first day of Junior Kindergarten is definitely a day to remember in a photo puzzle in a frame hanging in your bedroom.
So, thanks Amber!

Wow, Julia, that is a great idea! I bet the twins will love that! And it's also a keepsake memento for the parents as well!
By the way, moving money into investment accounts is probably one of the best gifts you could ever give them, whether they understand it or not. Essentially, you are creating a gift that will keep on giving long into the future!

Thanks, they can each work on their own photo.
I just thought that with their birthdays being a month after Christmas, they got so many toys that first year, that in a few months they would outgrow those toys, and they would be boxed up for a yard sale or a donation, but if I never got them any more toys, and only got them some clothes, which we all need, then they would have a little something for when they grow up. And in the long run, how many parents, let alone children, can remember the toys that they received for various birthdays and Christmas' over the years from their grandparents? Not too many.

@moffittjc I was always taught that during difficult times, and the covid years were that, you put away or buy investments. That was my reasoning, my son didn't appreciate it until he could track the monthly interest that they are earing, then he came on board with my logic.

@Juliaacv I agree. Toys are great when you first get them, but after you've played with it for a little while it looses its luster, and then you toss it aside and move on to another toy. And then it ends up under the bed or stuffed in the back of a closet, and then eventually donated or sold at a yard sale.

Thank you, Harper's big smile in this picture just makes me feel so happy when I see it.
I hope that they will like a picture of them on their first day of JK, I am sure that Klaudia will have a sign for them to say first day of school and the date on it.

I thought it might be a nice thing to work on (a puzzle) on a cold winter's day, and the outcome will be a finished picture that, with their parents' help, they can glue together and then eventually put into a little frame for their bedroom. It might help take the 'sting' off of us adults, parents and grands, on that very first day of school.

That does sound like a cute idea and one that is unique. That is a super cute birthday photo too.
