Depressed at the beach.

Today we went for a long walk along an almost empty beach. So did @Traceyjayne but not the same beach. In spite of the perfect beach weather (stiff breeze and thick, low cloud cover to deter as many beach goers as possible) I managed to be offended. Why do people feel the need to play very loud boom boom music on beaches? Why people? Why? The only music needed is already playing in the squawk of sea birds, the moan of the sea, the rush of breaking waves and the crunchy sound of the pebbles underfoot as you dance along the sand. But oh no. The oiks have to blast their decibelious honking into the air while they bury their faces in their phones. And groups of oiks don’t seem to have a problem with sitting right beside each other, cheek by jowl, each blasting out competing sounds. And none of these people are building sand castles - they just sit there huddled up with hoods hiding their faces, hypnotised by their phones, all ignoring each other. And here’s another thing, why do so many groups have to set up camp right at the entrance to a mile long beach? Are they afraid of walking on sand? Are they not able to walk the length of themselves to find a less populated space to spread themselves out? Well at least on my beach trip I found good reason to be a grumpy old man so it wasn’t a complete waste of time.
