Commonwealth Games in Glasgow

So a bit of controversy here. The BBC had covered this multisport event since 1956 on terrestrial TV ( not streaming or satellite) but this year their bid for the contract fell short and it slipped behind a paywall. I love multisports so paid £10 for one month of the streaming channel its on and enjoying it so far. It's not the greatest coverage as I only get one live channel with the show hopping over to various live events and so you miss stuff you want to see. I want to see the athletics, boxing and swimming .There is a bit of a lull in the sport post World Cup so I thought I would pay up and enjoy. Australia were originally going to host the games but politicians wouldn't sign off on the budget for hosting. Glasgow, who held the 2014 games, jumped in and said we can do it and so far doing a good job. The compromise was cutting it down to just ten able bodies sports and four para categories. Its A quirky event and lawn bowling somehow survived the cut but field hockey didn't. As I say the venues seem to host decent crowds and not the warmest nights up north for the athletics. The card for athletics is not that strong with many big names dropping out late on yet there are people in the stadiums supporting Glasgow and the Games. In the Commonwealth Games the United Kingdom team splits into its composite parts of the four countries. Scotland doing rather well so far. Most sports are dominated by Australia and England with the African nations strong on the athletics track. If you are in the U.K and not watching it then why not cough up a tenner and watch it. Unfortunately the Scots won't be doing that any day soon as they are so tight they can peel an orange in their pocket.
