Kindergarten Graduation

When my mom was principal of my school, she always said the thing they got the best reaction from parents was the Kindergarten graduation. Parents would cry, take pictures, and everyone loved it. And this wasn’t graduating from coloring. In kindergarten you learned to read and do math. I don’t know why so many kindergartens just give you coloring pages and call that school. Anyway, these are each of the kindergarten graduation pictures from Amyra (now 15), Hudson (now 10), and Annelyn (now 6; in the purple robe). Did anyone have kindergarten graduations?

It’s pathetic to me that you’ve got kids in 3rd grade who are just learning to read.

I have some photos of our son's senior Kindergarten graduation. They did not wear gowns as your nieces and nephews did back then, the students were asked to bring a white button down dress shirt of their Dad's, which was worn backwards and a crepe paper bow tied around the neck. Sounds poor, but they were quite cute. The teacher made their hats from bristol board and the tassel was just yarn. I look forward to what Willow and Harper will experience. Your pictures are great. Somehow, in my mind, it doesn't seem that long ago that the younger 2 looked as they do in these pictures, but Amyra has certainly grown and changed over the past 10 years since her picture was taken.

Your son’s kindergarten graduation sounds wonderfully inventive! Yes, Annelyn graduated just a year ago, and while it was a ways back for Hudson, he grows so slightly I think he doesn’t look too much older either.

I don't remember having one myself, but all 3 of my daughters did have graduations. It was a bid deal! Probably just another way to make money; caps and gowns, etc.

All very adorable! I don't think I did, can't recall. And my son didn't but not sure if that's just because he finished kindergarten during the c virus mess and they had gone totally to virtual learning
