Sunday Morning

Good Sunday morning all. When I got up this morning, a few hours ago, it was pouring down rain. And it kept up that strong downpour for about 45 minutes before I noticed it lightened a little. But even then it was still a good rain. It has stopped now, but I think that it will only be a brief break, as the skies look full still. I have to run out to get our deli meats and cheeses sliced. I am sure that they will be busy as tomorrow is a holiday, and they will be closed. They do not open until 8 and I have a feeling that it will be raining again by then. Not a huge well known holiday tomorrow, its called Civic Day Holiday. It is just a mid summer holiday Monday. The next holiday Monday, will be Labour Day, that is the last holiday of the summer, and our schools, from grade schools up to most post secondary universities and colleges, open the day after that holiday. Time is ticking, summer is limited. We see it with the later sunrises and earlier sunsets. We feel it when we get a cool off in the weather, as it will last a couple of days longer. And most 'summer' based recreational children's sports will come to an end within the next few weeks. Our son's twins play soccer and their Day of Champs, which is the big playoff for the season is always on the Saturday of the Labour Day weekend. The regular season is over, they are in the play offs already. ~Photo is mine of berry blossom tomato plant

We also had a long refreshing thunderstorm and t was so nice to let the cool air get inside. Our only summer holiday will be the 15th of August, a religious holiday. "The Assumption of Mary". The days are starting to get shorter, after mid August night will come early- I am glad I still have long days, I do not like the night anymore. Your tomato plant is gorgeous.

I just came back from the little deli/bakery and it feels like September outside. It is quite cool and breezy, but we will have more rain today I suspect. I found a greenhouse grower who has a passion for tomatoes, and the different varities. He recommended this sweet berry blossom variety as we enjoy a juicy, somewhat sweet tomato in our garden salads. This one is a lovely flavour, and I will buy another plant of it next year. I feel like we will be getting a big swing in the weather within the next few weeks and it will grow much cooler than usual. I hope that I am wrong.

@Juliaacv - It was so hot the past two days, we all hoped for rain and a thunderstorm and this morning finally we had the thunderstorm. Now the temperature is a nice 28 C, breezy and I am sure the rain was so much beneficial to the trees. I have no idea what to expect for winter, I hope it will not be as cold as summer was hot.

The tomato plant looks amazing. When you said holiday, Ibthought, wait, what holiday is it again? It doesn’t feel like close to the end of summer here, but I’vectalked about it before; how August is Oklahoma’s hottest month. It doesn’t cool down here until November, and that’s not an exaggeration. It just stays in the 100s for so long. Thankfully, in October, I’ll be in Canada!
