The facility that I'm at is called Enlightened Recovery. The chef at the usual hangout came through here and had nothing but good things to say. When I decided to go into treatment earlier in the year my ex called him to find out where he went. So here I am. They describe themselves as a "luxury" treatment center and I have to agree. The facilities are beautiful, the food is all organic, there are various holistic activities, etc. There are 4 phases to the process though not everyone goes through every one of them. There is detox, residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient (IOP). One of the cool things about this place is that all of the employees are in recovery. I don't think that applies to the nurses or NPs but the techs, cleaning crew, cooks, counselors, and even some of the holistic providers are all former addicts. They understand what the patients are going through which makes it easier to feel less judged. It is VERY expensive so your insurance company may have a heart attack when they start getting the bills. That being said the company also offers scholarships. One of the girls that was in the house last time was given a 2 week scholarship so she didn't have to pay the rent or the cost of the treatment. They also look for different grants available to help people get in/stay. So today I will be blowing up the feed with pictures and descriptions of different parts of the main campus. Come walk around with me.

That’s great that they have recovering people there. It’s a lot more personal that way, and honestly people are more likely to listen to someone who can say “I’ve been there” instead of “the textbook says…”

That’s pretty cool that even the counselors are recovering addicts. And when I say “cool” I think you know what I mean.
