The First Monday Of Hindu Month Shraavan

Today is Monday, a very special, very holy Monday for us Hindus.
This is the first Monday of the Hindu Month, Shraavan. Shraavan is the fifth month of our Hindu year. Monday is the day dedicated to Lord Shiva. Similarly the Shraavan month is also dedicated to Him.
On the first Monday of the Shraavan month thousands of devotees from across the country carry water from rivers, preferably holy rivers, and walk to Shiva temples and offer the water to the Lord.
Today I saw many devotees carrying water on their shoulders proceeding towards a Shiva temple in other towns.

Thank you. Of course, I want to join the devotees. But my parents are alone here and I have to look after them.

Thank you. No, I didn't. I was alone in my family to look after my parents. It was impossible for me to leave them alone.
