Exotic Animals as Domestic Pets

Do you think it should be legal to have exotic pets at your home? I don’t mean wildlife organizations that jump through hoops to get permits. I mean like the case in my city with a resident whose cayman got out and is currently loose. It was seen about five miles from my home, and they are asking people to be on the lookout, and to watch your pets closely. The guy had a permit, but in a residential neighborhood, should you be allowed to have a reptile like a cayman (type of alligator)? If my dog were harmed by it, I would want to sue the owner of it. You want to have an alligator? You best be sure you can contain it.

As long as they have their personal nannies who can focus in taking care of them, just to avoid them getting out of the house without the owners noticing it until someone got hurt from their neighborhood because of it - just like what you said. here in the Philippines there are rich people who owns exotic animals but they have their personal nannies.
But I guess it is applicable for animals who are best pet inside a home due to lack of funds to protect them from a zoo or that they lose their home from the wild, coz nowadays many mountains are being destroyed.
I always believe that exotic animals should be free in the wild so they can really live their lives to the fullest and not just cage inside a house losing their abilities to hunt, and play in the mountains in their natural habitat.

After watching Tiger King and Chimp Crazy, I think there should be an extensive vetting process for people to have exotic pets in their homes.
Remember when that chimp attacked its owners friend and basically tore its face off.

It's nuts to even want some animals as pets. I have had raccoons once. They are fun. They also won't eat me or the dogs.

That's insane. My cousin once owned an alligator but he had it placed in the farm. Not in a residential area.

That is crazy to have a cayman, Those things are dangerous, Lizard, iguana yes cayman no or anything close to an alligator or crocodile,
