A day that left me thinking

It's 10 21 p.m. and I'm finally home after being at the hospital with my stepdad most of the day. Like I said earlier, he's been admitted for four days, and seeing him like this is really hard. He can't swallow or eat, and, right now he's only getting nutrition through a drip.
Something that's really been on my mind today is, how people treat their parents. My stepdad has two sons who are both doing well. When my mum told them that he was admitted, they each sent money, but then nothing. No calls, no visits, no "how's dad?"...and it's been four days .
One's in the UK, one's in Nigeria, and neither has checked in. I honestly don't get it, like I can't imagine not calling if my parent was in hospital.
Being there for your parents when they're alive matters so much more than big burials later. My stepdad's 94. I know that's a good age, but it doesn't make it easier. You never really get ready to lose a parent. You always want them to stay, right? I didn't go to work today because I wanted to be with him.
Tomorrow I'll keep checking in, and, if all goes well, I'll visit again on Saturday. Please keep him in your thoughts. I'm hoping and believing the next update I share will be a good one. Good night, everyone. May we never take the presence of our loved ones for granted.

The one on the UK might have found it difficult just to down tools and get to Nigeria
But he should be talking to his mother
The one in Nigeria, why don't you phone him and tell him to get his a$$ in gear and come and see his father and his mother.

94?! Wow! Maybe he is good to his parents when he was little, a good kid reward is having a long life.
Anyway, it is good to know that he have you and your mom. God bless.
Don't take it to heart about his biological sons, just pray for them.
