She has an amazing memory

I have a very good memory for certain things, events, faces..etc. but I do not quite have the photographic memory sis has, but not only that, she can remember specifics of events. I was talking over the weekend about how I remember when my uncle first brought my aunt to my grandparents house and introduced her to us as his girlfriend. I mentioned she thought we were cute and was laughing at everything we were saying. Sis, said I remember when Uncle Donnie went to smoke..she kept blowing out his matches so he couldn't light up. I blew out one too. That is the kind of detail..I just could not remember. Mind you this event occurred close to 60 years ago! Do you know anyone with an amazing memory?

I freak my dad and sister out with my memory. I can tell you what I was wearing when I get my first migraine. I can remember being placed on the moving counter at the checkout when I broke my leg at one and a half. Now, those two memories are tied to trauma so that could be a reason.

@AmbiePam My brother in law was hit by a car when he was 2, in a laundromat parking lot. I think he has a plate in his head. However, although he doesn't have conscious memories of it, he has dreamed about the event several times..seeing the car coming closer and closer. However, it probably happened so fast..I don't know if he had time to experience that.

Probably..My mother doesn't think I can possibly remember this, but I think I do probably because it was a huge event. My dad had been working on ore boats on the Great Lakes. When he was "discharged" or done with his tenure..he had to be picked up in Ashtabula, OHio. I was under 2. I swear I remember that because I was lying on the back ledge of the sedan most of the time..not sleeping, just relaxing. However, I don't remember the actual reunion.

My son and his father also have excellent memories, at least as good and probably better than mine.

It is impressive. I do remember a few things from when I was very young..3 and younger..but they are generally vague, only one or two have any amount of detail.
