Health Journey 2026 - Day 6

Hello everyone, how are you all doing? I have shared that today was my "cheat" day. I am still including it in this series because it is part of the journey and I want to share it all. Show what eating carbs does versus meat. The scale did go down again, even after having the food truck food yesterday. I did keep my calories low though with only having the one carby meal, and no dessert. So, what did I eat today? Meal 1 - I did have a protein shake because I thought I wouldn't get too much today Meal 2 - KFC - Famous bowl (potatoes, gravy, a little shredded cheese and chicken nuggets) Dessert - Chocolate Mousse (so rich, but so good) Dessert 2 (hours later) - Chocolate chip cookie Macros - 1,793 calories, 85 fat, 60 protein, 180 carbs I can definitely eat more when carbs are involved. That's why this will be *hopefully* only a 2x a month thing in the future, eventually I hope to not even want to have carbs at all. I know my husband said today after having carbs again, said he doesn't want to have a lot of carbs anytime soon. My blood sugar did spike to over 200 after the meal/dessert. Luckily I have taken enough insulin that it has come back down. Now, before we had the KFC meal we were shopping, and for once in the longest time, I did not have any back pain! My legs and feet did get tired and sore...but no back pain is so different. I don't know if that is because I got rid of a lot of inflammation in the first 4-5 days or water weight. But I will take it. After having the carby meal, and the dessert I did notice that my knees kind of hurt which I know is from the inflammation. Still not as bad as I was in pain a week ago though. But now that my back is feeling better some, I can start working out soon. How long at a time will depend on my legs and feet though. We'll see. I am sure that the scale will go up some tomorrow cause I am sure I will be holding some water weight from today, and extra calories. But hoping by the next weigh in, I will weigh less than the last. What do you think of all of that?

You are fixated by the scale Can you not stay away from it for a few days

No I cannot stay away from it. It tells me how I'm doing, how I react to food, etc

Glad you are starting to feel better. It sounds like it's helping your husband feel better too

Oh yeah it's helped him a lot and it helps me too, even though I probably should do a lion diet but don't want to be that limited

I'm really glad that you keep pushing regardless of how difficult the weight loss journey is. One question, does cheat day mean the day you eat whatever you want?

I am trying, I got to...tired of being in pain. For some it might just mean eating more calories, but still to their diet. For me, it does mean eating whatever I want lol. I tried to still not go overboard.
