Bike Leans - Memorial Plaza

Whoo. I went and saw four bands earlier tonight (last night, now.) I walked to and from the show (about 3.5 miles,) so I’m pretty sore. Yet I cannot sleep, so I’m sitting here listening to Steely Dan records. What does that have to do with this bike lean?
The veterans/first responders cycling group I ride with, Project Hero, has a big ride later this morning that I’m going to end up doing sans sleep. Anyway, one of our destinations today is to ride into the town of Morrison, Colorado (home of Red Rocks Amphitheater) to the site of this particular bike lean, Memorial Plaza. There we will have a moment of silence for our fallen brothers and sisters before continuing our ride.
Memorial Plaza was a joint project between local VFW Post 3471 and the town of Morrison in 1976, to commemorate the U.S. Bicentennial. The Veterans Memorial was dedicated on Veterans Day in 2003. Post 3471 holds an annual Veterans Day ceremony at the Plaza.
I’m pretty sure I’ll make certain the group learns this knowledge as well.
Did I mention the forecast is calling for a high of 100? It is, and we’re riding. We’ll be in a big regional park with a big lake with a swim beach if it gets unbearable.
Now, back to Steely Dan.

I did not know, that is pretty cool, hope you all enjoy the day and appreciate the sacrifice for the country. Maybe one day in the future the country will be worthy of that sacrifice, Maybe I should not say such things but maybe how the country is not living up to what its supposed to.
I guess that is what freedom is about it does not have to, enjoy Steely Dan.

We have moments of silence all over the place. We were going to ride to the local veterans cemetery, but they don't allow you to ride a bike in there.

@teamfreak16 Yeah I would not ride in there for living people, be like you riding on them but if walk could be walking on them. Well if we did it right they free spirits and you can ride walk dance sing and they their souls set free. I know what you mean.

I don't think it reached 100. Probably high 90's. Still hot, but it wasn't unbearable.
