Sunday Lunch

We decided to do something different for lunch today. The little grocery store that we discovered when I was going an event over towards Gloster had a Sunday Lunch Special today. We had ordered lunch from the deli when I did my event vs. buying from a Mexican food truck that was sky high. We got a home cooked meal that was very good and enjoyable for $11.30 a plate. Can't beat that, it is what you would pay for a combo meal at one of the junk food places. So when I saw they were doing this special for Sunday lunch I mentioned it to my hubby and asked he he was on board! His answer was, YES! We were both looking forward to it since we had returned several times after the event for burgers or plate lunches. The menu today was: Rib Eye Steak shown on flyer as grilled steak Mashed potatoes with gravy Fried Okra Blue berry cobbler for dessert We picked up our order after having to wait for them to make more mashed potatoes. You have to give them a time for pickup and they usually have it ready. We got our order and headed back home. I pulled one of the dinners out to take a peek and discovered NO DESSERT. My husband said that they probably ran out. I said I placed my order at 11 am. Not fair to short us if they did run out. I asked him to turn around and go back in case they did forget to put the dessert in, after all we DID pay for dessert to be included with the meal. The other thing was no grilled steak. They had cut the steak up and fixed in the gravy and served over mashed potatoes. It was very messy. He did turn around, although things like this embarrasses him. He came back out with two cups of dessert. I make the comment that see, they just forgot them. He said that they did run out and took these two out of another order since we ordered early. We got home and ate. The first thing I notices was all the grease that had separated from the food and was sitting on top of the food when I opened the boxes. Ugg. I soaked it u with a paper towel best I could and we dug in. It was good, but not quite as good as the last cook they had. I think we won't be going back very soon. We were a bit disappointed in today's offering. My question to you is would you have gone back to ask/get your dessert?
