Least Favorite State

Fellow Americans and maybe Canadians will recognize this map of the United States with each state clearly designated. You also might notice each state has, from the title of the picture, each state had the name of our least favorite state marked. For instance, Oklahoma has Texas written on it as our least favorite. This is 100% accurate as there is a huge college football rivalry between Oklahoma and Texas. I personally love Texas, but I don’t let college rivalries influence my feelings. You might also notice Missouri lists itself as their least favorite state, and Kansas lists Kansas as its least favorite state as well. New Jersey apparently doesn’t like itself either. No way @NJChicaa feels that way. Perhaps @DaddyEvil and @GardenGerty can explain those feelings about Missouri and Kansas. I think they probably don’t feel that way. It also doesn’t surprise me that California is listed as the least favorite so often. Some of it is jealousy over beautiful weather and a cool place to be. However, A LOT is the disdain for how terribly liberal they are. We have several great Californians here so I wouldn’t want anyone to get the wrong idea about all the people. Do you have a least favorite state? Note Hawaii doesn’t have a least favorite state. They’re too busy being happy to show any dislike. *Picture from a local newscaster, Mike Morgan on Facebook

You knew people had problems with California though. It sure is a gorgeous state though. Just wish it weren’t so expensive.

I think most states have something to offer if you go to the right places. Some states seem like boring states to me..but I bet the residents come up with some fun things to do. From how you have talked about Oklahoma and the heat though..sounds bad..couldn't take it.

It’s the people that keep my family here. They are so stinking nice. It’s also affordable, which I appreciate. I just hate the heat.

The Kansas/Missouri thing goes back to the Civil War. Kentuckians love Florida because we vacation there so much.

I can't say that there is a state that I particularly dislike. I mean I wouldn't want to live in Texas or Florida but that is more due to their restrictive laws about reproductive rights than anything else. NJ is a great state. We rank very high in education. I saw a headline that NJ was ranked the 2nd best state to live in. I will have to look for the article when I get back to the house. There is a woman here who is from Michigan. She's been here for 2 months. I asked her if NJ was as awful as she had heard. She said she loves it here and didn't understand the disdain for the state.

I thought New Jersey would list New York as their least favorite state just because it feels like a lot of these states just list states closest to them. Honestly, I don’t get disliking any state in your own country.
