Marcel Proust wrote his life's work, "In Search of Lost Time", and holds the Guinness World Record for the longest book in the world. It is a multi-parts novel that spans 7 volumes from 1913 to 1927. It is 1.2 to 1.3 million words count and 9,609,000 spaces.
