Cider with Fiacre - Rosie couldn’t make it.

Right now I’m sitting in the sunshine at the back of my house, surveying my garden, and refreshing my weary self with a bottle of pear cider. There are five swollen bumble bees hanging lugubriously around the lavender plants and I can hear the ferry loose itself from its chains down at the harbour as it sets sail for Scotland. We’ll go down to the harbour later to experience (rather than look at) the moon eclipsing the sun. Once we’ve been impressed we’ll return home and have cottage pie for dinner and my wife will continue packing for her two night trip to Manchester tomorrow. Even though Manchester is to suffer 33 centigrade degrees of heat, the hot water bottle will still travel with her in case the weather girl has lied through her perfect teeth.

@wrexxo Tomorrow will be 33, next day 24. Quite an abrupt drop.

We don't have bumble bees here. We might have the equivalent but I'm not sure of that.

Well if it is 33 C she can always fill the bottle with cold water and ideally put it in the fridge to use in bed later. Is pear cider the same as perry?

@fleura I’m told it’s similar to Perry but not quite the same.

33C might be a conservative estimate. Your wife will really notice it when they open the doors of the plane to disembark. Did you see the eclipse when you went to the harbour It did not happen here

@ineeddentures We looked, but it was very cloudy. Just felt everything go dull and cold then the gulls all stopped squawking and the world fell silent.
