Well, we made it back.

George and I went out today to pick up those raised toilet seats. Walmart only had one, so we went to walgreens to get the other. So, we wound up getting two different types. I got the first one installed and wow, I really do feel those five inches. Using that bathroom isn't going to be easy until I get used to it, but I'm short. My husband , George, is three inches taller than me. So I'm sure he'll have little to no issue getting on and off while I have to scoot back. I'm making it work. He's frustrated that this is where we are now, but honestly, I can understand. Getting old isn't for the faint of heart, and coming to the realization you now need a mobility aid, it's not easy.

No, that's so true. But there comes a time when these aids become something to be thankful for. Sometimes our pride has to take a backseat. Glad you were able to put them in without much trouble.
