I hate this...

I have been watching The Big Bang Theory, and I’m on the episode where Sheldon’s Meemaw visits. Cute, wholesome episode, right? WRONG. Because the actress they have playing his Meemaw is not the same one who played her in the spinoff shows, Young Sheldon and Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. It’s Annie Potts in both spinoffs, but when Meemaw appears on The Big Bang Theory, she’s played by June Squibb. I understand that this episode was made before either of the spinoffs were even filming, so they obviously hadn’t cast Annie Potts yet. But still, as a fan of all the shows, it feels wrong. Do you have a show and/or character where this happened? Where a character was recast and it just felt weird? Picture is thanks to google images.

I love June Squibb, it just seems odd to see her as Meemaw.

I can't think of one off the top of my head, but throughout television history, they've done this many times. Not even in a spinoff, but in the show itself. Think Bewitched.

Yea i can completely relate with that, it's annoying when you see someone else being cast as a character you are already used to, but we can't really do much about this, and sometimes they do have legit reasons why they can't cast the same person.
