Today was India's 80th Independence Day!

I am thankful that I was born in a free country. I am grateful to all those brave people who made great sacrifices to give me this invaluable gift. Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Netaji Subhash and thousands others, whose name are not written in any history book. My grandfather and father are among them. I am glad about it. Today, I took part in the national flag hoisting ceremonies at two places. first in our foster care home , the second at our parish church after the holy mass. The mass was well attended though many could not attend it because they' had to be at their offices or places of work. At the same time I am a wee sad in the deep of my heart. The country is not in the best of health. The ills are too many to describe. For me personally , the prices of essential commodities have risen sharply in the last few years and it has affected my life painfully. I am sure many of my countrymen would echo my words. Our Prime Minister delivered a great speech from the ramparts of the historic Red Fort( built by the Mughals). He dished a dream of developed India by 2047 ! Hollow words! I have lived through the 13 years of his reign. Ask the Gen- Z , they expressed their dismay in their July protest so vociferously! You should see the videos to comprehend its nature,!
