Editing face photo, who are you?

We just had a visitor
It was quite funny lol.
This lassie knocked at the door and Yvonne answered and hadn't a clue who it was.
So the girl told Yvonne who she was and Yvonne said "how come you don't look like your Facebook photo"
This lassie was quite plump with bad skin , yet her profile picture Yvonne showed me her face was flawless, plump and round , but flawless , not a blemish at all.
Anyway, she bought the pair of trainers Yvonne was selling so it's all good - Yvonne bought them for £10 and sold them for £45.
But why do that? Why edit your own face to look like something it just isn't.
It's confusing for old people like us.

Well this girl looked nothing like the only photo of her Yvonne had seen
Yvonne thought it was pretty funny
The lassie was only about 35

@Ineeddentures Exactly. You can be or look like whatever you want. Look at all the companies using AI for customer service now and not humans. Robots are replacing people in warehouses pulling inventory. Where do you think we will be in another 2-5 years?

@kareng
I have no idea
I just wonder what will happen to all the people that the robots replace.
They will all never find new jobs
Just another way for companies to save money

@Ineeddentures it's not all that bad; I just avoid mirrors.

I don't like mirrors either
Nor my photo taken
But i wouldn't go trying to make myself look any better or any younger

And there are several phones these days that automatically edit ones face when taking a selfie. Don't like those phones at all.
I used to post photos of me here in mylot, frequently. I changed them up whenever I get a new haircut or a new hair color or just a new look. None of them were filtered nor altered in some way.
Made me think I should post a more recent photo.

@Ineeddentures I'm not afraid to show my flaws. They're there for a reason. Love me or hate me, I really don't care that much. I'm too old to care.

But you don't look in the mirror and tell yourself lies

You don't need or ever did need to use a filter
Or alter your body shape
You are fine just the way you are
