Editing face photo, who are you?

August 16, 2026 3:48pm CST
We just had a visitor It was quite funny lol. This lassie knocked at the door and Yvonne answered and hadn't a clue who it was. So the girl told Yvonne who she was and Yvonne said "how come you don't look like your Facebook photo" This lassie was quite plump with bad skin , yet her profile picture Yvonne showed me her face was flawless, plump and round , but flawless , not a blemish at all. Anyway, she bought the pair of trainers Yvonne was selling so it's all good - Yvonne bought them for £10 and sold them for £45. But why do that? Why edit your own face to look like something it just isn't. It's confusing for old people like us.

It's the spirit of AI! I am afraid that it will be a big downfall to society in the long run. Never liked it myself and still don't like it.

@Ineeddentures Exactly. You can be or look like whatever you want. Look at all the companies using AI for customer service now and not humans. Robots are replacing people in warehouses pulling inventory. Where do you think we will be in another 2-5 years?

@kareng I have no idea I just wonder what will happen to all the people that the robots replace. They will all never find new jobs Just another way for companies to save money

@Ineeddentures it's not all that bad; I just avoid mirrors.

And there are several phones these days that automatically edit ones face when taking a selfie. Don't like those phones at all. I used to post photos of me here in mylot, frequently. I changed them up whenever I get a new haircut or a new hair color or just a new look. None of them were filtered nor altered in some way. Made me think I should post a more recent photo.

@Ineeddentures I'm not afraid to show my flaws. They're there for a reason. Love me or hate me, I really don't care that much. I'm too old to care.
