A question of extra expense vs peace of mind !

So I went to a place recently for a pending invoice for a payment which needed approval. It was a Medical consultation charge. While coming back from that place, I felt like having a Pancake and Tea. It was not very costly but not very economical. In a way, I got X Rs approved and Y amount of expense meant X-Y as the net amount. Logically it meant I lost Y Rs. Yet in terms of peace of mind, it was not bad. Have you been through such matters before, or recently?
