Well, that was a success.

Good evening. I didn't make it this morning because I'd gotten distracted doing other things. However, as I may or may not have mentioned yesterday, we went to Walmart because we were almost out of milk. I knew it would be one of those tripple-digit hauls, but it's okay. We don't make a habbit out of it and it's things that'd be needed in the future anyway. It saves a trip. We stopped at the vision center, only to find out George's insurance isn't accepted there, but I got a reference to a place I can call on Monday and see if they can get George in so he can get his licience renewed. I think George thinks he needs glases to pass the eye test at the DMV. When it's more likely his afasia striking. Some times he can speak clear full sentanceses other times he gets lost when it comes to communication. So we have to work around it.

@nawala123 That's right. We have a lot more freedoms than a lot of people think. It can complicate things, sure, but it is also a good thing in some cases.

Sorry to hear that George-s insurance isn't accepted at vision center. Why? What's wrong? What's afasia anyway?

When he had the stroke, George developed mild to modorate expressive afasia. What that means, is there's a disconnect between what George's thinking in his head, and what he actually says. For example, when I ask him what t-shirt he's wearing, he wants to say Mark Martian (a former nascar driver), even if that's completely wrong. Another example, he'll often call my coke pepsi, our toyota a ford. Those are just some examples. On their own, you wouldn't know he is making mistakes, but he is. More recently, however, he's learned to be more constant saying Pepsi when that's what he wants. But, this becomes an issue, when hes' expected to retain and expresss information on the fly. We were in walmart, and he was trying to tell the person what he needed from the vision center, but wasn't quite able to. He basically tried to tell the guy his reading glasses were defective (when they work just fine), they're just designed for reading not distance. So I have to explain things when I can, although I'll get frustrated with him, when he wants me to search for something and he gets stuck on a word.

I hate when our insurance isn't accepted certain places. Like Walgreens doesn't accept our insurance at all. And sometimes that's the only place near us that will fill certain perscriptions.
