This is a jackfruit. Jackfruit is one of my favorite fruits. Fruit flies generally lay their eggs inside the fruit—which is why they are called fruit flies. That is why the fruit is usually wrapped in plastic or a sack to prevent fruit fly infestations. Some people also use fruit fly traps.

Jackfruit is cool
Fruit fly infestations would maybe destroy a whole drop of them

We have plenty of that one and during my childhood we have lots of that back home. But as I grew older the lesser the times I am able to consume and rarely do I get the chance to eat it. That is why my taste for it has somehow lost over time and I am not that fond of it anymore like I used to.

@nawala123 I have seen many ways to prepare this fruit. It can be cooked, sweetened, or eaten raw. I remember someone once cooked a semi-ripe one with coconut milk, and it was enjoyed as a vegetable dish too.
