Bike Leans - Blue Sausage Guy

Since I live across the street from the University of Denver, I ride my bike on campus a lot. It’s a convenient short cut for me, and it’s quite peaceful and relaxing. I like to ride past the athletic fields - in addition to their 11-time NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey National Champion hockey team, the school is big on soccer and lacrosse, and often I ride past practices, or sometimes an actual game in progress. There’s also a carillon in a tower adjacent to the fields, and often, it’s playing as I ride through. I can also hear it from my apartment, which is nice.
At the athletic fields, there is a small cement wall that has been decorated by murals. That’s my gravel bike, Agent Gravel, leaning on part of it. I like all the murals, but this little guy is what caught my eye. I honestly have no idea if this is a famous cartoon character, or something from some kids show or other. I just think he’s funny.
Unlike some of the other murals I’ve posted, I can’t find anything resembling a backstory for these particular murals. Which leads me to think that rather than being something the school commissioned from local artists, I’m guessing that these were done by art students at the school. The “Thanks D.U.” part is maybe a giveaway? (Although perhaps a commissioned artist thanked D.U. for the paycheck?) They obviously aren’t simple graffiti - school security is all over things. They patrol our area more than the Denver Police do. Odds are they would have come across and stopped any attempt at graffiti.
So that’s it. An amusing blue sausage guy. Sometimes art is just that - art, for art’s sake.
Link is to a short local news piece about the carillon:

He kind of sticks out compared to the other murals. At least he does to me.

Denver has lots of public art around the city. We're just lucky, I guess.

@Ineeddentures - Your town council sounds like a real piece of work.

Our small town had one of the most famous nightclubs on the planet , Flicks
Art Deco frontage of the building is all that is left of it
Council let it go to ruin
To make the part of the town flooded look less like a war zone graffiti artists offered to brighten up all the boarded up doors and windows for free
Council said no

@teamfreak16 — frankly, I’m worried about anyone who doesn’t see it!

@FourWalls - It's probably meant also to mean he's moving fast.

I'm guessing he has a name, but I have no idea what it might be.

Nice Photo, I think your bike give added value to the mural.
Anyway, next time you might want to try to hold your phone camera up side down, to lessen the pavement and give a better photo of your bike and the mural behind it.
Thank you for such a nice story. God bless.
