Footsteps on the roof

It's almost two thirty in the morning, woke up and just did warm bath. While doing that I heard footsteps on the roof and some whispers. Of course, I got scared. Good thing we have dogs at the back. I am certain they would have walked through have they not heard the dog's bark. Though part of me thinks someone's checking their rooftop for leaks since the rain didn't stop for days. But surely not after midnight. It's one of these situations that I'm lucky to have dogs. phew that really scares me.
