Hello everyone, how are you all doing?
Today I had my 3 month check up with my endocrinologist.
I weighed in and had lost what I thought - 12 pounds. Apparently I haven't weighed this much since 2024. Hoping by next time I can get closer to 200, then maybe the next time getting under that. We'll see how it goes. I know before I lose a bunch I need to heal my body from all the damage I did with the standard american diet (that I still enjoy at least 2x a month)
I did have some blood drawn for quite a lot of different tests, I have some results back but will share when I get the rest.
I will share the A1c as it is done by the nurse when I go back to the room. It was 6.6; higher than I wanted but I just started this a month ago...takes time to lower the 3 month average. Based on my CGM my average is a 6.3. He says he trusts that more. So he is saying I am now in prediabetic range.
He also said I could stop taking the meal time insulin once I run out of what I have, if I continue eating this way. We didn't mention carnivore, just that I am doing low carb - which is technically true.
We'll see what happens once I get the rest of the labs back. So far it is looking good though.
Food today?
We did go out to brunch after my appointment. I got a Monte Cristo sandwich with garlic parmesan fries. Not carnivore, I know...but I took the day off. I got full quickly though, only ate about half of the fries, and a quarter of the sandwich (but the sandwich was huge). Had the rest of the fries and another quarter of the sandwich for my second meal. The other half of the sandwich I gave to family.
I did have one dessert after (a snack cake).
Definitely not as bad as my last carb day, so hopefully it won't affect me as much.
What do you think of it all?

I tried to not go overboard, especially knowing Saturday I will have some carbs too. But not going to go as overboard as my last big one two weeks ago.

12 pounds is a good start, but I still have over 100 to lose
Yes that's good too, though I think it's too soon lol
Well it was still too many carbs, I did go over 200, at least after the dessert

well I will probably have another one Saturday, I normally would not do that but my appointment was just close to shopping day. But hopefully I will.

I do like that your Dr. ordered the blood work so we could actually see what all is happening with your body.
