Celery is a type of leafy vegetable and medicinal plant with a distinctive aroma, commonly used as a seasoning or culinary garnish. In Indonesia, celery leaves are often finely chopped and sprinkled over meatball soup or chicken porridge. I like to add celery in my meal.

It really does. You do not need much of it either. A little can add quite a lot of flavour to a meal.

I have to say, I’m not crazy about celery, but it really adds a lot to some dishes.

That is how I feel about it too. I would not go out of my way to eat it alone, but in certain dishes it really works well.

It can also be used with all kinds of food without needing to be cooked (it only needs to be washed and picked apart).

@septabchips A great thing about celery is that it can absorb excess oil and stabilize blood pressure.

That is true. I like the fact that you can add it to a meal without having to do much with it first.

I can understand that. Celery has quite a distinctive taste, so I suppose it is one of those vegetables you either enjoy or do not really care for.

I used to eat it a lot when I was younger. I had some a few weeks ago for the first time in years .. there is only me that likes it so I usually find I can't eat it all before it goes soft . Although I recently was told you can freeze it.

@nawala123 I do keep it in the fridge, and also wrapped but I still can't eat it all before it goes off. There is only me at home to eat it and I don't have it every day

I like celery too, especially when it is added to a meal rather than eaten on its own. It gives food a nice fresh taste and a bit of crunch. I have never tried it in meatball soup though, so now I am curious about that.
