Hoovering my car yesterday turned into a proper workout!

I thought I would quickly hoover the car and be done with it, but those awkward corners and tiny spaces had other plans. I was twisting, stretching and moving the seats around just to get to all the dirt hiding in there.
And of course, having kids means there are always crumbs from biscuits, crisps and snacks scattered around. I honestly do not know how they manage to make such a big mess from such small snacks!
By the time I finished, I felt like I had cleaned the entire car.
Why is hoovering a car always harder than hoovering the house? Is it just me?

Haha, it definitely was! I did not realise cleaning the car could count as exercise, but I certainly felt it afterwards.

My daughter is a grownup but still manages to make messes in our car. I suggested she vacuum it out the last time she made a mess.1 person likes this

@septabchips Usually owning your own car takes care of making messes in one but my daughter can't drive so I doubt she'll ever bother cleaning one.

@DaddyEvil Haha, I can believe that! It sounds like your daughter has managed to avoid the cleaning part altogether. I suppose owning a car does make you more responsible for the mess, but kids somehow always find a way to leave one behind!

Haha, it sounds like kids never really outgrow making a mess in the car! At least you have now passed the responsibility back to her. Hopefully she takes the hint and vacuums it next time.

I got so annoyed at a family visiting our church. They were a missionary family home from Vietnam for a year, and they needed a van to drive (they had five kids). Our church provided them with one. At the end of the year, they brought it back trashed. It was up to my 71 year old father to maneuver in those difficult spaces to get it clean. That’s hard work. They could have cleaned it out themselves, but they left it trashed.
I imagine you did some stretching!

I can imagine how much work that must have been, especially with a whole van left in that condition. Your poor dad! Those awkward spaces in cars really do make cleaning much harder than it looks

That is so true! I suppose making a mess is just part of being a kid, although I would happily skip the cleaning part.
