Chocolate Xiao long bao, anyone?

Craig and Mel had dinner at a Chinese restaurant Sunday evening. Mel's girlfriend sent him a message saying they should try the chocolate xiaolongbao for desert which isn't in the menu. Craig said it was really good but too sweet. One serving contains 6 pieces but Craig said just one piece is enough for one person. However, he and Mel had three pieces each. Since it wasn't in the menu, they didn't have any idea how much it costs. When the bill came, they were both surprised how expensive it was. Told him, the most important thing is that they both had a great meal.

Haha yeah off menu stuff always does that. But chocolate xiaolongbao wild combo, sounds so fun though! ?? Glad they still loved the meal despite the surprise charge. You’d ever try a chocolate dumpling, or are you strictly savory all the way?

@toniganzon - I forgot that not all chocolate is dark. Looks pretty good.

Yeah, if it’s not on the menu I’d expect it to be pricey. But it’s also fun to do.

It sounds good, but I don't like overly sweet things either.

That is something new. I like to try it but maybe I need to share it because I also cannot finish it all if it is too sweet.

Right. When it comes to food, money is no issue at all.

I wonder if off-menu desserts are often priced higher because they are treated as special items?

Not sure about that. But everything in that restaurant is pricey anyway.
