I Was Cheated / myLot

I was told there would be rain! Yesterday, temperatures dropped to 85 F (29 C) yesterday, and though it was humid, I got around outside happily anticipating the rain. Well, no. Some places got a couple of inches, and I’m happy for anyone who lessens the drought in their area, but boy did my city need help. The lakes are low around here. Today, it is back up to 103 F (39 C), and I’m thankfully only going to the pharmacy. But hey, I had salmon bites last night, and they were delicious! I haven’t had salmon due to the cost in awhile. It was a nice treat. And hey, in 9 more days we may get more rain. Anyone looking for a repeat of The Dust Bowl? What’s going on with you?

We were getting rain every afternoon for a week or so, then it just stopped.

We finally had rain, still not enough, but a blessing as our lakes and rivers are all at a record low.

I can now imagine what summer feels like in here. It’s hot but still tolerable for me as a tropical islander typically experiences. And early morning can still be very cold around here.

Oh, I say salmon. But where I shop, is it REALLY salmon? And not everywhere was 115 F (46 C) 10 days ago.

We’ve had about half an inch of rain measured at the airport, with more mesonet sites reporting more. I’m thankful that it’s been a nice, steady rain and not a 10-minute monsoon that doesn’t do the vegetation much good. Did the salmon bite back?

It was the same here. Tuesday, weather bureau said there will be more rain on Thursday and Friday. Local mayors suspended the classes for Thursday. Thursday came, very minimal rain. And the weather bureau said there is a monsoon break
