Pakistan lose to England but....

Well , Pakistan almost became the first team to go through a three match test series of completed innings of not scoring 200 in any of those innings. They were terrible in English conditions here and lost badly in the first two tests. Players were sent home, players were picked who had not played test cricket and others plucked from T20 leagues around the world to make up the team. One guy had not played red-ball cricket for two years and, not surprisingly, made nought in each innings. There was talk of match fixing and arguments behind the scenes for the reason for the poor show but nothing firmed up. Running the Pakistan cricket team if the third most prestigious job in Pakistan behind the president and prime minister, and even the military. Political interference is rife in Pakistan cricket. But today and yesterday they suddenly started playing. It's like that moment in Rocky when Adrian tells Rocky from her sick bed to win Rocky! Maybe the bookies and hangers on decided to leave the team alone and the relief allowed the lads to play. And new star has been born make no mistake. Razaullah reminds me of a young Imran Khan, dynamic with bat and ball and with real passion. He took wickets at a high pace and scored runs, smashing a record nine sixes in a test innings in England. 449 all out was were Pakistan should have been doing in the last month. England knocked them off to win by 8 wickets and a fifty by Joe Root. He has really struggled this series as the keeper has been standing up to the stumps and Root has been getting out LBW and not getting many runs. But great players fix those things.

I have never watched a cricket match all the way through. I would like to understand it better.

Man that's a wild turnaround, from not hitting 200 to smashing nine sixes in an innings. Pakistan cricket really is its own soap opera with all that politics behind the scenes. Razaullah sounds like a proper find though, hope they don't mess him up like they do with everyone else lol.

Pakistan used to had great players and tough teams in the past. Imran Khan, Zaheer Abbas, Javed Miandad, Salim Malik, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Saeed Anwar, Inzy, Shoaib Akhtar, Yousaf Youhana, Younis Khan, Mudassar Nazar, Ramiz Raja and many more. They won the 1992 world cup and used to give a tough fight. They dominated India at Sharjah for many years. It became a kind of taken that India was unable to beat Pakistan at Sharjah. And Pakistan was unable to beat India at the world cup. Yet in the last 10 years, their standards have gone down. They do come up with fine performances here and there but overall it is a challenge for them.
