Water Flosser

Do you use a water flosser, or do you use string floss or floss picks? I got a free water flosser, and since my dentist said they are better for you than string floss, I’m sticking with it. I got my BIL a free one, and he said he just sprayed himself and wouldn’t use it again. I told him you have to put it in your mouth before turning it on (lol) and it WIlLL take trial and error.

Oh, I’m interested in this. I have only used, or tried to use, string floss or floss picks, as recommended by my dentist. Unfortunately my teeth don’t have much of a gap between them, so not easy to keep the plaque at bay. A water flosser sounds like a possible solution. How do you not drown or spray water everywhere is what I want to know. And does it really work?

It absolutely works. You want to start off on the lowest level of pressure, and slowly increase it as you get used to it. Make sure it’s in your mouth with your mouth closed before you turn it on. People forget that and then get sprayed. If you follow the directions, you should see plenty of “evidence” of it working. That’s part of why I went to a water flosser. I couldn’t force the dad blasted floss between all my teeth.

@Orson_Kart Yes, it is. To give you an idea how well some (because I’m sure some brands are better than others) of them work, my dental hygienist cleans the grout in her bathtub with her water flosser. lol That’s why you want to start the pressure off low.

@AmbiePam So does your mouth quickly fill with water? I’m guessing it’s a start/stop exercise to allow you to spit?

your BIL is too funny. Have you seen Dyson's camera jet toothbrush?

I have one, but I have only used it a few times. It is hard to get the pressure exactly right.
