Making chicken soup for my sick husband

He's well on the mend but had to take another day off from work so he can fully recover from the flu-like symptoms. The hardworking person that he is, he keeps looking for things to do while at home. I told him to take it easy and to rest as needed. I've finally regained much of my strength after getting sick last weekend. I'm still on medication and on strict diet. I've been right on track so far. I need to get better lab results by end of September. Meanwhile, I'm cooking chicken soup for my husband's lunch. It's just a simple thin soup with garlic, onions, ginger, tomatoes, carrots, corn and pak choi. Hopefully, the stuff that I put in can help with the cold symptoms. It's the flu season here. Has anyone been sick with the flu in your household?

I'm glad to hear that you and your husband are both feeling better. Both of you all should take it easy. That chicken soup sounds really good and it has all the components to fight a flu. So far no one in my household has gotten the flu.

I live alone, and even though a person can’t actually do this, I refuse to get sick. I’m going on a cruise in less than a month, and I do not want to miss it. So, no sickness is allowed here. Actually, I should be looking at taking some Vitamin C to up my immunity. Hopefully, your husband will be as good as new very very soon, and your lab results will be better.

Yes, I did! But I am getting better now, and I hope I will have the full recover. I hope your husband have a fast and full recovery soon.

I really hope you both recover pretty well, and i guess you both need to take care of yourself and not overwork yourselves. I heard chicken soup is very effective when someone has a flu or so, but haven't tried it myself. I guess it's true?

Thankfully, no flu here right now. We love chicken soup. Son likes it a lot when he doesn't feel well. I made a small batch of it a few days ago, he has since finished it all. He calls it ''Chicken Soup for the Soul'' and claims it has powers to make people feel better. He's joking of course, but it surely does taste good when a person isn't feeling well.
