“We’re in this together.” They drive that into your head day one in basic training, but it applies to everyone. Last year, Agent Gravel and I were in Pueblo, Colorado, for the Grassroots Gravel race. That’s Agent Gravel with a mural that says just that. We are in this together. Pueblo, long known as the Steel City due to its longtime ties to the steel industry, is Colorado’s ninth-largest city, population-wise, and has spent a long time turning itself into an art city. There are nearly 160 pieces of public art inside the city limits. They’ve got art all over the place in Pueblo. There is a canal that runs through the town (I’m unsure if it’s the Arkansas River or Fountain Creek,) and that thing is muraled up beyond belief. But art is everywhere. Just walk around and you can’t miss it. Or, take a walk through the Creative Corridor, which spans three historic neighborhoods. You can join other like-minded souls during the First Friday Art Walks, when you can not only check out the art, but there is also live music, and the local artists often hold meet and greets, sometimes even giving demonstrations. If that’s not your thing, there are also guided tours available. That was a really fun weekend. I went for a bike race, but found a lot of really cool public art. And I am a fan of public art. Link is to a video of some of the murals seen around Pueblo, a few of which I recognized from last year:

Pueblo sounds like it's got way more going on than people give it credit for. Cool that you went for a race and ended up finding all that art too. Bet that mural hit different after a long ride, kind of a nice reward.

You’ve taken in a lot of art in your day.

I don't have an artistic bone in my body, as they say, but I like to look at it.

That’s so cool. Colorado seems like a place that’s always been very inviting to artists, regardless of the type of art they make (paintings, music, books, etc.).

Me too, I like a wander and see what is out there. In Trafalgar Square there is the fifth plinth which is regularly used for sculpture and changed frequently. One of my favourites is the disused platform at Gloucster Road Tube station, which is also changed often
