I think this is largely a southern breakfast but I don't know. It isn't particularly common here in the northeast US. My mother and her BFF call it "spackle" and never let their husbands order it if they were somewhere that served it. I don't eat sausage. I don't know. . . like 20 years ago I was slicing some up to make sausage and peppers and I just thought "what the heck is even in this?" and that was the end of that for me. Anyway when I was on my day spa retreat in the spring a friend said that the cook, Smokey's, biscuits and gravy were amazing. I was sick of eggs by that point so I decided to try it. OMG yum yum yum. Every time he made it I had it! So today I'm missing Smokey's biscuits and gravy. It will take me some time to make the biscuits and the sausage has to defrost. I'm not having it for breakfast today but I definitely will be tomorrow!

It sounds good! Biscuits and gravy are pretty much a staple here, and it’s so good to me. I can practically taste my late grandmother’s homemade biscuits and gravy it was just so good.

It was a revelation for me. So good! I'm sure mine won't be as good as Smokey's but I'll give it a good shot.

@NJChicaa I bet if it’s not quite as good, it will be right up there.

Lol "spackle" is such a funny name for it, I might steal that. Biscuits and gravy sound so good right now, hope tomorrow's batch turns out just as good as Smokey's.
