Health Journey 2026 - Day 48

Hello everyone, how are you doing? I am back to share how I did today on my journey. First of all, the scale went down even more. I know I just share a weekly weigh in here, but I got to a new low today. So that means I am almost down 20 pounds now! I may go up tomorrow since I had a bit more calories than Saturday...but we'll see. So, what did I eat? Meal 1 - 9 oz salmon with some butter Meal 2 - 2 slices of bacon, 2 eggs, 2 cheese sticks, and a little butter. Macros -- 1,133 calories, 0 carbs, 88 fat, 82 protein I was a little lower in the calories I originally planned because of two reasons; I didn't really care for the bacon we had and I did get full off of everything else I had. I preferred the uncured thinner cut bacon we had got from a different store, so will try to get that when I can. My blood sugars have stayed pretty stable all day too. Even though I am sitting at 106 now; wondering if it is the cheese (though it doesn't have the bad ingredients that shredded cheese has). Anyways - that's another day done. Used AI to make the image; just wanted to make an image for my journey series.

I've lost about 20 lbs, blood sugars are doing better, etc

So after the burst at the start where you got down 18lbs quite quickly It's all slowed down just a bit which is ok as slow and steady wins the race and the weight is more likely to stay off So well done, keep it up

Well I have gone up and down a bit, especially around cheat days....but I think almost 20 is a good pace for a month and a half. I expect a lot of that is water weight still, as I know I am still holding some because of inflammation in my knees.

(Pre) Shredded cheese just tastes off to me, but like you, I know about the bad ingredients. My late mom used to laugh because I refused to cook with pre shredded cheese. I insist on shredding it myself. I don’t care what anyone says; there is a difference in taste (and health).

I never thought of it tasting off, but probably from those nasty ingredients that are in it. Oh really? Well I think that is just smart to shred your own. I just never have because of convenience even though it is not that hard to do it yourself lol

That's awesome hitting a new low, almost 20 pounds down is no joke. Salmon and butter sounds like a solid meal honestly, I might steal that combo. Hope the blood sugar stays chill for you, sounds like you're doing great tracking all this stuff.

That is a good point, it is not. Salmon and butter is always good...I'd eat it every day if I could lol. Blood sugar did go up to 120 this morning, stupid diabetes lol. Hopefully eventually that will stop happening
