Health Journey 2026 - Day 49

Hello everyone, how are you all doing? It's almost time for me to get some sleep, but I thought I would share how I did today with food and everything. My blood sugar was pretty stable, except it was staying between 100 and 108 most of the day. That's still not horrible, but I prefer it to be between 80 and 100. What did I eat? Meal 1 - 6 slices of bacon Meal 2 - 8 lil' smokies cooked in butter, a little sugar free barbecue sauce and 2 eggs Meal 3 - Protein shake and a little butter since the shake had zero fat. Macros -- 1,424 calories, 10 carbs, 118 fat, 74 protein I know I should not have the protein shakes because even though they are low carb they do not have the best ingredients. You could say that about my 1 zero sugar soda a day. However, the shake does have some carbs so it could raise my blood sugar. It did only up to 118, and came down to under 100 now. I just did not feel like cooking another meal this evening. I prefer getting all I need earlier in the day. What do you think? Also, do you eat 3 meals a day? One or two? Do you just eat when you are hungry and stop when you are full? I try to do that, except I still track to make sure I get enough protein.

I seldom eat three meals a day recently. I do brunch and dinner. If I am hungry, I eat a snack in between

That is good, two meals I think is better, and a snack if needed.

Good job keeping it mostly steady today, that's not an easy thing to do everyday. I usually just eat when I'm hungry, no real meal count for me honestly. Sounds like you know your body pretty well though, that shake thing is a small tradeoff not a big deal.

I just wish it was in the 90s and 80s like previously...even today it is higher. Eating just when you are hungry is good, that is a smart thing to do. The shake is okay, I just know the ingredients aren't the best.

I pretty much eat three meals. I only eat when I’m hungry so the times of my meals vary, but I think I eat three total. Since my doctor told me I needed more protein I started to drink soy milk with extra protein (she recommended soy over regular milk). So sometimes during the day I’ll just go to the fridge and pour out 13g of soy protein in a cup. I started losing weight faster when I started doing that.

Well eating when you're hungry is best.... But that's understandable. Never thought of that as a way to get extra protein, but that's good. And with the weight loss if you are trying to lose

I eat when I'm hungry. That's how its intended. You eat when your body tells you to, stop when it says its full and enjoy the food you eat. I've never heard of anyone cooking lil smokies in butter. They cook in their own fat/grease. Or you cook them in sauce. But yout blood sugar is a t a good level.

@MommyOfEli2013 I didn't say anything about you eating a whole stick of butter. And my sister has been going through fertility stuff for a year so I am very familiar with what the diet is.

@thislittlepennyearns I didn't say you did lol, I just said some people. So was just clearing that up once and for all. Not that it even matters. Well sorry to hear that

Yes I know it is meant to be that way. On the standard American diet I was always hungry so felt I had to eat more than I should. So that's good to live by that. Well I did it to get in more fat. I don't always do that. I'm doing higher fat for fertility. But everyone seems to think I'm eating a whole stick with a meal or even throughout the day but I'm not. Yes it has been, and without having to take loads of insulin

Milk is for children lol. But that's good if you want and can eat that often. I used to eat 2 meals and snack most of the day.

Other than the protein shake I think so too. The scale went up a little, but I did have more calories than the 2 days before. Two meals is good...I try to
