Hubby Had a Hell of a Bad Day Yesterday

Last week hubby's crown fell off his his molar twice. He stuck it back on himself. Then he started having pain, so he called the dentist Friday but they're only open half days on Fridays so they didn't call him back until Monday (yesterday) and they worked him right in. He had put the crown back on himself. He pointed out which tooth it was to the dental hygienist. She laid him back really far in the chair. He thought to himself, "Well, this isn't good. Shouldn't I be sitting up in case the crown falls into my mouth?" She used some sort of instrument to pry the crown off his tooth and did it with such force that it flung the tooth down his throat, completely bypassing his mouth. The crown got stuck in his throat. He was choking. He couldn't breathe. He got up out of the dental chair and was grabbing his throat - which is the international sign of choking - and continued to cough and choke. He couldn't breathe. The dental hygienist did NOTHING! This continued on for several minutes and at some point the hygienist said, "You can throw up in the sink if you want to" After much coughing and clearing of his throat and smacking himself on his own back, the crown finally dislodged from his throat and naturally he swallowed it. The hygienist left the room for a very long time and when she came back in, the dentist was with her and he said, "Why did you swallow the crown?" Hubby replied, "Because I didn't want to die" The dentist said, "Well, you needed a new crown anyway," and a few other things but neither the hygienist nor the dentist ever said they were sorry. The dentist worked in hubby's mouth for a while filing down the existing tooth and building up something, which hubby said was very painful even though they had numbed him. Then the dentist said hubby's new crown would be ready in two weeks and left the room. The hygienist then said she was going to put the temporary crown on hubby's now-exposed tooth. He said, sarcastically, "Are you sure?" She said, "Yeah, I'm sure." Hubby said, "Then I need to be sitting up, not laying down" and she said, "Everything's going to be fine." As hubby was leaving to pay, the clerk said the new crown would be $1200 but she was giving him a discount for not having dental insurance and also an "inconvenience discount" and she was charging him $855 for the new crown. Hubby said, sarcastically, "You mean you're giving me an 'I almost died' discount?" She didn't respond. Hubby will go back in two weeks to get the new crown but he said he's never going to any dentist ever again.
